Beautiful textiles inspired by nature.
Having grown up with both my parents working as weavers with their own textile business I have been exposed to the craft from a young age. I watched them create rugs and tapestry on floor looms while my sisters and I would create our own small pieces of weaving sat on the floor of the workshop surrounded by colourful cones of wool.
After the birth of my first child I returned to textiles. I purchased a Swedish Glimakra floor loom and began designing and weaving cloth inspired by the colour-scapes around me in the Scottish Borders. Using only natural yarns and fibres I find great pleasure in creating pieces which have a minimal impact on the world - in an age where consumerism and fast fashion have become the norm I feel the focus needs to shift to a slower, sustainable, ethical method of production. The textiles I create are each unique, intended to last a long time and at the end of their life span will naturally degrade without polluting the planet.

Over the years I have taken on a number of commissions working closely with clients to produce a bespoke piece relating to their brief. I particularly like working on commissions as they push me to explore colour schemes, patterns and design ideas – often creating pieces which lead me to new areas within my creativity. If you have an idea for a special piece in mind please contact me and we can discuss further how to realise your vision - there are many elements to making something uniquely yours. Through design, colour and yarns, the possibilities are vast!
